THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 2021

Event Details:

Thursday, February 18, 2021
3:30pm - 4:30pm PST

Stanford faculty, staff, and students heard from Bill Gates about his new book, what he's learned about this complex and far-reaching challenge, and why he remains hopeful that we can overcome climate change.

Co-sponsored by the Stanford Precourt Institute for Energy and the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment, the conversation focused on Bill Gates' new book - How to Avoid a Climate Disaster, his efforts to investigate the causes and effects of climate change, and how the world can get to net zero in time. Stanford Professor Arun Majumdar hosted the conversation and Stanford President Marc Tessier-Lavigne offered opening remarks. This event was open exclusively to the Stanford community – faculty, staff, and students.

Stanford students were invited to submit a question for Mr. Gates in advance of the event. Top questions were selected and presented during the live webinar.
